What is GYEON Q² Rim EVO? GYEON Q² Rim EVO is a professional ceramic coating for alloy wheels that builds a hard SiO₂ protective layer – heat-resistant, brake-dust repellent and easy to clean, for wheels that stay clean long-term with barely any upkeep.

Wheels are the hardest part of any car to clean – baked-on brake dust, high heat and constant mechanical stress make standard care products give up fast. GYEON Q² Rim EVO changes the starting point completely: a high-temperature ceramic coating lays a lasting protective layer over the wheel that keeps brake dust and grime on the surface, won't let it sink in, and cuts cleaning down to a minimum. The EVO version brings optimised heat resistance and better resistance to baking-on.

Chemistry and physics: why ceramic wheel coatings are different

The real challenge with wheel coatings is temperature stability. Wheels can hit 150–300°C under heavy braking – depending on the car and how you drive. Waxes melt as early as 80–90°C, polymer sealants last a bit longer but give way too under extreme heat. GYEON Q² Rim EVO uses SiO₂ chemistry with an optimised high-temperature hardener: the cured layer keeps its structure and protection even under extreme brake load. The EVO version of the formula improves heat resistance and gives a more even layer on the often textured wheel surface.

Application: coating wheels step by step

With wheel coatings, prep is everything. First strip the wheels of brake dust and fallout with the Q²M Iron WheelCleaner, and shift tar residue with a tar remover if needed. Once they're fully clean, degrease and let them dry. Then lay Q² Rim EVO on thin and even – spokes, barrel and rim lip done separately. After the flash time, work it off with a microfibre cloth. Go panel by panel on each wheel. Curing at room temperature takes 12–24 hours – don't move the car until it's fully cured. After the first drive, let the wheels cool and wipe off any marks from that first round of brake heat with a cloth.
